Waterworld Themed Water Park in Ayia Napa
Feeling the heat? When it comes to keeping cool in the summer sun, WaterWorld is the place to go. From braving the exhilarating slides to relaxing on the lazy river, there's something for everyone and every age at this popular Cyprus waterpark. With 35 slides and activities this is Europe's largest themed waterpark, promising plenty to keep you and the little ones entertained for a full day of fun.
Bright, colourful, beautifully maintained, and with a choice of excellent rides, it ranks in Trip Advisor's top 20 waterparks in the world, and is one of the top 2 in Europe. Whether you're thrill seeking or simply looking to chill out, it's one of Cyprus' biggest attractions and a must-do for most families, couples, and groups of friends during any holiday on the island.
A history lesson in a waterpark!
With the rides and pools based around classical Greek myths, you could even claim a day at the park counts as a history lesson! (It's a shaky argument, but a great way to get the kids interested in the Classics!) One thing is for sure though, it's guaranteed to be a lot more fun than anything you learn at school.
Adrenalin junkies can throw themselves off the side of the Drop to Atlantis or race down the Chariot Chase. Less adventurous family members and little ones can sit back and chill out in the gently shelving Pegasus pool. There's lots of sprays, buckets, and fountains to dodge in the Danaides waterworks kid's playground.
Or take up the challenge to cross the rolling logs in the activity pool. Once that's conquered, it's time for your next adventure, the Minotaur's Labyrinth. Climbers have to brave their way to the top of the wet slippery bubble, before sliding down again into the pool and play area. And for adults looking for a bit of peace and quiet away from the children, Aphrodite's Baths provide a tranquil space to unwind, complete with bubble benches.
Natural beauty too
From the top of the slides you'll enjoy great views of the sparking turquoise coastline before you plummet back down to the ground. Then grab a ring, lie back, and admire the tropical gardens as you float around the Odyssey river, just watch out for the monster Scilla and the Cyclops!
When you've had enough of the water, pull up a sun lounger and parasol to relax. The grounds are attractively planted, with beautifully manicured gardens where you'll spot exotic plants and palm trees.
If you're feeling peckish, there's plenty of places on site for a refuel. There's a choice of restaurants serving favourites like burgers, fish and chips and pizza. You'll also find snack stalls dotted around for a quick bite or refreshing drink on the go. Simply lie back and relax in the shade of a palm tree with a cooling ice cream or delicious smoothie before preparing yourself to hit the pools again.
Handily located on the water's edge in Ayia Napa, the WaterWorld waterpark is served by bus routes No 102 from Ayia Napa and Protaras and bus No 711 from Larnaca.
