This outpatient support includes both in-person and video consultations, as well as prescriptions sent straight to your nearest pharmacy, saving you some much-needed time on holiday.

You'll also receive an SMS reminder the day before you depart (single-trip and backpacker cover). Or for those who have taken out annual multi-trip cover, the reminder will be sent the day before the policy begins.

But before the Post Office can confirm cover for any pre-existing conditions, you'll need to tell them about your medical history and any medications you're taking.

** Kids (under 18s) can be covered at no extra cost on the single-trip and annual multi-trip policies provided they have no medical conditions.

*** Medical Assistance Plus is not available for trips taken in the UK, only for international travel. The service allows up to 3 separate medical events per person, per policy and for each medical event up to 3 appointments per person listed on the policy. All appointment charges are covered by your travel insurance policy. You will not need to pay any excess fees for this service.
