Getting around New York State

By bus and train: Ride NYC’s buses and 24-hour subway train system and feel like a native New Yorker.

By taxi: Take one of NYC’s famous yellow metered taxis. Don’t forget to add a 15%-20% tip onto the fare, plus an extra $1 (weekdays, 4pm to 8pm).

By car or RV (motor home): A great option if you’re upstate and want to live out your road trip dream. Just ask your car rental company what you’ll need to get started.

By bike: Bikes are perfect for upstate treks and days out, and for whizzing around the city.
