Nightlife Playa Blanca: Bars & Clubs

One of Lanzarote's main holiday resorts, Playa Blanca is known for its upmarket bars and hotels, and overlooks fantastic sandy beaches. Whether you're coming here for a few days or an All Inclusive two-week holiday, here's our guide to Playa Blanca nightlife and other things to do in the area.

Bars and clubs in Playa Blanca

It's a little quieter here than in Puerto del Carmen, which has a bigger clubbing scene and is more popular with partygoers. However, Playa Blanca still has a lot of variety, with everything from live singing to discos and other quieter bars where you can mingle and chat, rather than dance non-stop. Like many nightlife venues in Lanzarote, you can expect much of the live entertainment in Playa Blanca nightlife venues to be in English, due thanks to the area's popularity with British holidaymakers.

A lot of the entertainment is family themed, too, so Playa Blanca is a great place for adults and kids to relax in the evening after a long day on the beach or a day trip to Lanzarote's other tourist destinations and natural attractions.

Nightlife tips

If you're coming to Playa Blanca bars from further afield, or heading back to the resort Puerto del Carmen and want to book a taxi late at night, always agree the fare before you set off. Also, remember that many clubs in Lanzarote don't open until 11pm, and the party doesn't really get going until around midnight. Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to let your hair down, as these clubs often stay open until 6am.

If you're booking your holiday in Lanzarote for late February or early March, you can join in with the carnival, a magnificent parade with colourful costumes, concerts and huge firework displays. Even at this time of year, it's pleasantly warm by day, although bring an extra layer of clothing at night, as temperatures typically dip to the low teens ℃ from around December to March.

Other things to do during your holiday in Playa Blanca

Relax on Playa Blanca's beaches, try some watersports, or go on a diving adventure at the Atlantic Museum, a unique underwater art museum with artificial reefs and concrete sculptures. It's 300 metres from Marina Rubicon, an upmarket marina development with luxury yachts, high-end boutiques, excellent restaurants and bars.

A little further afield is Playa Papagayo, one of Lanzarote's most beautiful beaches. It's famous for its pristine white sand, clear waters and calm waves, perfect for timid toe dippers or tiny tots.

A short drive inland from Playa Blanca is the beautiful village of Femes, where you can get a wonderful view of the coast, especially at sunset. Here you can also see picturesque whitewashed houses or dine at the famous Restaurant Balcón de Femes for superb food and unforgettable views of Playa Blanca. This is the perfect place to unwind and get those holiday snaps before you head to back to enjoy Playa Blanca's nightlife after dark.
