Water sports in Playa Blanca
With the Marina Rubicon at the centre of holiday life in Playa Blanca, boats and water sports are never far away. A cruise around Lanzarote's coast is a relaxing way to see the island's scenery. Pick the right one and you'll even get to enjoy a barbecue on board, the perfect way to make the most of the sunshine and fresh air.
If smaller boats and big adventures are more your thing, take a sea kayaking tour, perhaps with a spot of snorkelling at a secluded beach on the Papagayo peninsula.
Or how about learning to windsurf? Lanzarote's a world-class destination for it, and you'll find a windsurfing school on Playa Blanca's marina. Once you've got the hang of it, hop on the bus to Costa Teguise where you'll find the best conditions for windsurfing on the island.
And should you fancy a complete change of scene, you can always catch the ferry to Corralejo on the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura. Crossings take from 25 to 45 minutes, and once you're there you can spend the day relaxing on Corralejo's 11 kilometres of beach, stopping off in the cafés and shops on the long promenade, and exploring the old fishing village at the heart of the resort.
