Castle Of Santa Agueda Spain
If you're looking to go sightseeing on your holiday to Cala'n Forcat, don't miss the Castle of Santa Agueda. Found in Ferreries around half an hour's drive from Cala'n Forcat, you'll have the chance to experience some incredible scenery as well as exploring this historic landmark. The Castle of Santa Agueda sits 264 metres above sea level, at the third highest point in Menorca. There's an ancient Roman road that leads up to the castle, as the Romans had set up a camp there many centuries ago.
You can drive most of the way up to the castle, before completing the climb on foot. If you're going over summer, make sure you take plenty of water with you as there's not much shade, and the sun can get very hot. Arriving at the top, the castle you'll see was built in the 13th century on top of the Roman camp, and its crumbling ruins are a fascinating sight. Gaze out across the beautiful countryside towards the Balearic Sea as you climb up toward the castle, making sure you have plenty of space for pictures on your camera.
As you explore the ruins, learn about the legends and myths that surround the castle, including stories of hidden treasure and silver lamps which were used to help sailors safely navigate their way around the coast.
After your trip to the Castle of Santa Agueda, spend the rest of the day in the sunshine at the Playas de Algaiarens. Then go on a romantic sunset cruise to see the Pont D'en Gil as the day draws to a close.
