Visit Porto Cristo
Spend some time exploring the beautiful little town of Porto Cristo. Around ten kilometres south of Cala Bona, it's a lovely place to go for a wander as you soak up the atmosphere of an authentic Majorcan seaside village.
#A traditional fishing village with a pretty natural harbour, Porto Cristo has a quiet and relaxing feel. Although there's a stunning beach with incredible scenery, there's not too much tourism in the village, so it's perfect for a peaceful day out. As you stroll along the harbour, you'll see traditional fishing boats alongside modern yachts and speedboats.
Make your way to the Avinguda de Joan Amer where you can see the ruins of a Roman basilica, while the site of the village's original Roman port is behind the current harbour. Drop into the quaint local shops as you walk the streets and look for souvenirs to take home.
Head down to the beach when it's time to relax in the golden sunshine, which curves around a sheltered bay framed by picturesque cliffs. Dip your toes in the crystal clear Mediterranean water, or make sandcastles with your little ones. Sit back and relax for the afternoon, go on a boat trip, or visit the Cuevas dels Hams, a peculiar network of caves just a couple of kilometres from Porto Cristo.
After your day in Porto Cristo, head back to Cala Bona and go for a few drinks at Sanddancers Bar. Don't stay up too late, though, if you have a diving trip or hot air balloon ride booked for the next morning.
