Cala Nova Beach Ibiza

For a lovely day soaking up some hot Ibiza sunshine and swimming in the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean, don't miss Cala Nova Beach. Arriving at the beach, you'll notice it has a more natural appearance than Playa de Es Cana, which is less than a ten minute walk away. Pine trees stretch around the bay, while the rocks that meet the sand at the back of the beach give it a lovely rugged feel.

Take your pick of the sun loungers as you find a spot for the day, or lay your towel down in the soft golden sand. If you have little ones it might be a good idea to take a parasol with you or hire one at the beach, as the sun can get very hot over summer. Don't forget to use plenty of sun cream too, especially if you're in and out of the sea.

The water's perfect for young children, as it stays shallow quite a long way out. Cool off with a nice paddle, or grab a snorkel and mask. If you love surfing, Cala Nova is one of the few beaches in Ibiza where you can catch some waves. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, join the local surfers when the wind's right.

When you get hungry, there are a couple of restaurants where you can have a quick bite or sit down for a bigger meal. There's also a little beach hut which the locals love, where you can get tasty snacks like fresh sardines.

After a relaxing day at Cala Nova Beach, head to Punta Arabi Hippy Market if it's a Wednesday, before it finishes at 7pm. Then make your way to Popeye's Bar for a few drinks and the live entertainment, before having a go at the Kentucky Derby on the way back to your hotel.
