Playa De Es Cana in Ibiza

To enjoy the warm Mediterranean waters and some golden sunshine, make sure you spend a day or two on Playa de Es Cana. One of Ibiza's longest beaches, this crescent of soft golden sand is perfect for the whole family. As you walk through the pine trees at the beach of Playa de Es Cana, you'll see the sweeping beach and crystal clear sea in front of you.

Pick a sun lounger and unwind under the shade of a parasol, or lay down your towel in the sand and enjoy the view. When it's time to cool off, go for a paddle or swim in the inviting water. The beach shelves gently so the sea stays nice and shallow, ideal if you have young children. The soft sand is great for making sandcastles as you keep your little ones entertained for the day.

If you feel like a bit of fun, hire a pedalo and go for a gentle cruise around the bay, choosing one with a slide for the kids. For something a bit faster paced, go on a white-knuckle rubber ring or banana boat ride, or have a go at waterskiing.

When you get hungry, tuck into a picnic on the sand, or head to one of the many bars and restaurants that line the beach. Take some shelter from the hot sun for a little while as you sip a refreshing drink or enjoy a cool ice cream.

After your visit to Playa de Es Cana, go and browse the quirky stalls of the Hippy Market Punta Arabia as you look for souvenirs to take home. Then, once the sun goes down, have a few drinks at Popeye's Bar before trying to win some prizes at the Kentucky Derby.
