Agadir nightlife

Whether you're after laid-back evenings or lively nights out, Agadir nightlife has something for everyone. The atmosphere in this beautiful city remains upbeat when the sun goes down, and you'll find a wealth of relaxed Moroccan restaurants, bustling bars, and a couple of nightclubs to choose from, too.

On top of all that, you'll also find plenty of live music, traditional belly dance performances, and a handful of glamorous casinos. Let's take a closer look at some of the highlights of the nightlife in Agadir.

La Scala, Route de L'Oued Sous

Seeing as Agadir is located on the Atlantic coast, you won't want to leave without dining on fresh and delicious seafood. There are lots of local eateries serving up tasty local dishes, and La Scala is one of the best in town. Catches of the day are combined with French and Moroccan flavours, all served in a lovely laid-back atmosphere.

Papagayo, Chemin des Dunes

There aren't many clubs in Agadir, but there are a handful for those of you looking to stay out late. Papagayo, located right on Riu Tikida Beach, is one of the most popular Agadir nightclubs. You can dance the night away to international DJ sets, and stick around to watch the sun come up on the beach.

So Lounge, Baie des Palmiers

Another popular Agadir nightclub is So Lounge night lounge. This is the hippest club in town (and one of the most expensive too) and it spans over several levels. The venue houses champagne and vodka bars, as well as a live music stage and even a restaurant. You'll find local DJs and artists playing here every night of the week.

The Atlantic Palace Casino, Secteur Balneaire Et Touristique

If you're feeling lucky, you could always make a beeline for one of Agadir's casinos. There is a handful to choose from, and they're all housed within hotels. The Atlantic Palace Casino is in the Atlantic Palace hotel, a traditional Moroccan palace right in the heart of the city.

Jour et Nuit, Rue la Plage

Open from early morning until midnight, you'll find Jour et Nuit within easy reach of the sandy beach. It's a firm favourite among younger crowds, and there's always music playing inside the bar. The huge outdoor terrace is a great place to chat with a drink in hand, or you can take a seat, admire the panoramic views and listen to the ocean. Inside the bar, there's music playing. Listen to the ocean, chill out with friends, and watch the world go by as you catch up over a few drinks.

Agadir nightlife: Top tips

In general, the nightlife in Agadir is much more low key than in Marrakech and Casablanca. Even so, there's plenty to keep you and the family entertained if a more laid-back scene is what you're looking for. Some Agadir bars are open until late, and there are a couple of nightclubs if you fancy staying out until the early hours.

When the sun goes down, the promenade along Agadir beach is a firm favourite among locals. They come here to enjoy the cafés and restaurants, many of which are open until late. It's a particularly popular spot during the summer months, when the weather's warm but there's still a lovely sea breeze.

In August, a music festival takes place close to the promenade, so you can expect to see lots of people around. This is the one time we recommend booking ahead if you've got a romantic night out planned, as the crowds are big and you might find it difficult to bag a seat at a restaurant.
