Getting around Rhodes Town

By bus: Regular services run between Rhodes Town, Lindos and Faliraki; they go half an hour or so in peak season.

By taxi: They’re perfect for short journeys back to your hotel in the evening. You can find taxi ranks by the old town and harbour, or give them a call in advance.

By boat: If want to head over to Lindos (which is well worth a visit), you can catch a boat from the harbour. 

Events in Rhodes Town

Rhodes Rock: Every June, Lindos hosts the island’s favourite rock festival. The biggest rock tribute and cover bands take over the ancient amphitheatre for three nights, playing famous tracks from Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin.

Medieval Rhodes Festival: Held in late May or early June, this is one of the biggest events in the island’s calendar. In the medieval old town, you’ll find locals participating with costumes, performances, and re-enactments (think jugglers, jesters and fire eaters).

Flower Festival: Visitors and locals flock from all over the island to experience this colour festival in every May. You can expect stunning parades and decorated floats, plus plenty of traditional food and wine.

Summer nights are also very mild; they rarely drop below 20°C, so you can enjoy dinner al fresco or a moonlit walk along the beach.
