What's the weather like in Rhodes in September?

The location of Rhodes off the coast of southwest Turkey and to the southeast of mainland Greece means the island has a typical Mediterranean climate. You'll get lots of warm and sunny weather with hardly any rain if you're going in September.

    Climatic influences

The largest of the Dodecanese Islands, Rhodes has lots of coastline, while the interior’s quite hilly. Highest peak Attavyros brings cooler weather and more rain to inland areas and also protects the south from winds, keeping warmer here than in the north. The etesian winds blow into the Aegean from the north, bringing cooler temperatures, but not rain as they’re dry.

    Averages

The average high in Rhodes is 28ºC in September, and things stay nice and warm in the evenings so you don't need to worry about bringing many warm clothes. The sea temperature’s also very warm at 26ºC, while humidity’s moderate. Average rainfall’s just 5mm over a single rainy day, and you can expect 12 hours of daylight each day with 11 long hours of sunshine. With high UV levels, make sure you use sun cream when out in the sun, which goes down just after 7.30pm at the start of the month.
