When you're exploring the old cobbled streets around Petra's main square, you'll be at the foot of the towering rock that emerges from the middle of the village. Save some energy for the climb to the church perched on top, as the views are stunning. And as you dip in and out of the shops, cafés, old merchant's house and Ouzo distillery, you'll also find yourself getting closer and closer to the beach. This long sweep of sand is one of Petra's highlights, as it's both beautiful and perfect for sunbathing and swimming.
