Aphrodite's Rock Microbrewery

For a unique half-day trip, take a tour around the family-run Aphrodite's Rock Microbrewery near the village of Tsada in Paphos. From ancient Bronze Age breweries to the present day, you'll discover the history of brewing in Cyprus and sample a range of craft beers including Irish Red Ale, American Style IPA and Bavarian Lager.

On your tour of the fully-operational brewery, you'll see small batches of handcrafted beers made using water from their very own spring. As one of the very first craft breweries licensed in Cyprus, Aphrodite's Rock Microbrewery is home to very knowledgeable staff; they'll reveal their top tips for pairing beer with different foods, which you can put to the test at the onsite restaurant. The tour is free, while the beer samples are an affordable extra.

To get to the brewery, hire a car and draw straws to decide on the designated driver. Alternatively, take a bus from Paphos Harbour to Karavella, and then another bus to Polis. Get off the bus at the village of Tsada, where you can be picked up and transported to the brewery.

On your way back to the hotel, stop off in Polis to walk the scenic Adonis Nature Trail, but remember to pack your hiking boots. Pano Akourdaelia Herb Garden is also a lovely place to spend an hour or two, especially if you time your visit with the popular farmer's market.
