Orlando Shopping Outlets
If you're looking for luxury brands at low prices, make sure you spend a day shopping at sunny Orlando's premium outlets. Once you've enjoyed the thrills of Orlando's cutting-edge theme park rides and attractions, there's no better way to unwind than with a little retail therapy at one of the city's outdoor outlet malls. You can stroll around shops that match every budget and style, while basking in Florida's year-round beautiful weather at the same time.
Shops
Orlando's two premium outlets are easy to get to and you'll find them at either end of International Drive, with one less than three miles from Universal Studios and the other on Vineland Avenue just a ten-minute drive from Walt Disney World Resort.
As well as being just a short drive by car and taxi via Interstate 4, there are regular buses and I-Ride trolleys that will take you directly to the outlet centre from certain hotels too. It's best to check and book these in advance at your hotel's reception.
If you're making your way to the outlets by car, you can enjoy valet or free parking but you'll find it can get quite busy during weekends and peak times.
Orlando International Premium Outlet is every shopper's dream. It's Florida's largest outlet destination, which means it's the place to visit for a never-ending shopping adventure. Home to 180-plus famous brands, the whole family can enjoy the great bargains and activities on offer here. Kids will especially love browsing around Character Warehouse for cut-price official Disney merchandise.
At the Mediterranean-inspired Orlando Vineland Premium Outlet, you'll find Tuscan-style shops set among palm trees and water fountains. Spacious enough not to feel crowded on even the busiest days, there are more than 160 outlet designer and name-brand stores offering up a mix of womenswear, menswear and kidswear. With huge savings of between 25 and 65% on top-name brands, it's a true shopping mecca for both tourists and locals alike.
However, do check as to whether any of your purchases are subject to import duty when you get back to the UK, so that you're not hit with an unexpected charge when you get home! This can apply to high-end electrical goods in particular.
Dining out
As if the wide range of shops on offer wasn't enough, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out too. Whether it's a quick snack in one of the food courts, a meal in one of the sit-down restaurants or cocktails in a surrounding hotel, there are plenty of options when it comes to refueling for the many hours of shopping ahead.
You're guaranteed to find the cut-price designer clothing and accessories too good to resist, so the ability to top up that last bit of spending money is a must. You can withdraw extra money at one of the many ATMs or change up some more dollars at the outlet's currency exchange station.
Plus, when the kids need a break, they can stretch their legs and burn off some energy at the children's play area. Perfect for when you want to hit the changing rooms in peace!
