Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco
Get to know the man behind the mouse with something for all Disney fanatics to enjoy, both young and old. Opened in 2009, The Walt Disney Family Museum tells the life of Walt Disney and what he did to create the magic that we all know and love today. There are ten permanent exhibits following Walt Disney's journey from his family life to his incredible career and his death.
The museum also hosts special exhibits showing how some of your best-loved films were created. Past exhibits have included Pinocchio and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Through interactive displays and art galleries, watch Walt Disney's story come to life and the work that was put into creating the company, through early drawings and animation, movies, music, listening stations and a miniature model of the early Disneyland.
Not only is this a story of Disney, it's also the story of the transformation of animation in movies, something that Walt Disney was a pioneer of. Discover the original drawings of Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney's many awards including Academy Awards and Oscars.
