Sitting pretty on Turkey’s southwest coastline is Lara Beach, a glamorous resort that’s packed with glitzy hotels and hot entertainment. Suppose you can tear yourself away from the sights and sounds of the resort for the day. In that case, a trip to historic Antalya is almost definitely in order. The biggest city on the Turkish Med, it should come as no surprise that Antalya is packed with things to see and do.

Lara Beach holidays are the perfect choice for plenty of fun in the sun, no matter what you want to do during your Turkish holiday.

Things to do

Take a stroll along Lara Beach’s sun-soaked waterfront and set up for a day on the sand. Sink into a sun lounger, kick back, and relax. Enjoy a few hours dozing in the beautiful weather before heading out for a snorkel in the crystalline sea.

There are many luxurious hotels along the waterfront, all of which come with their own entertainment, bars, and restaurants. You’ll be welcome to dip into any of these glitzy spots for an afternoon or evening. Lara Beach holidays are perfect for couples, groups, or families looking to relax, with many different areas to suit every taste.

If you love a bit of retail therapy, check out the designer shops in Lara Beach, or pick up a unique souvenir at the local markets. Or if you’re interested in the local culture, head to the ancient city of Antalya, which is brimming with history.

Excellent beaches

The clue’s in the name; Lara Beach is an ideal holiday destination if you’re looking to relax on the shore. The resort is centred around its beautiful Blue Flag beach, which boasts soft golden sand and shallow turquoise waters, perfect for paddling. The beach is lined with luxury resorts, which means plenty of facilities like sun loungers and parasols to make you more comfortable.

If you prefer to enjoy the beach from the sea, dive in! There are opportunities for watersports and snorkelling at Lara Beach, so take a stroll along the shore and see what you can find.

Turkey’s glammest spot

They don’t call it Turkey’s Vegas for nothing! Lara Beach boasts a vibrant and diverse nightlife, thanks to its number of glamorous hotels and resorts drawing in a fun-seeking crowd every year. There are several bars and clubs within the resort’s five-star hotels to keep you entertained, while lots of more laid-back spots can also be discovered.

Nightlife

If you’re in the mood for a big night out, head away from Lara Beach to Belek or Antalya. These two major Turkish cities are around 30 minutes’ drive from Lara Beach and are home to all the nightlife you might expect from a busy urban area. Whether you’re searching for a sports bar, cocktails and live music, dance music until the early hours, you’re sure to find your perfect evening in one of these exciting destinations.

Discovering history

Keen historians can discover many unique sites and ruins near Lara Beach, with excursions running from many hotels in the area. Head out to Termessoss National Park, and you’ll find Gulluck Mountain, which is adorned on its side with the ruins of a Pisidian city. Visitors will need to hike to reach these ancient ruins, but it’s well worth the effort to see something so special.

Antalya is also home to some one-of-a-kind rock tombs, which lie in an ancient town called Myra. Myra has a rich and varied past. Once Ancient Greek, then Roman, Byzantine Greek, and Ottoman Greek, the area is steeped in history. From connections to Saint Nicholas to Apollo, the God of the Sun, there are plenty of things to see and learn about when you spend a day here.

Food & drink

Food and drink often make up a big part of our holidays. You won’t be disappointed when you choose Lara Beach! The glitzy destination is home to many luxury hotels, all of which come with their own excellent restaurants. Dress up and dine in style when you head to one of these swish spots.

If you want to sample something a little more traditional, head into Antalya city centre, where the streets are peppered with exciting local restaurants. Try Antalya’s unique piyaz salad, one of the city’s most famous dishes of small beans and tahini. More Turkish dishes to look out for include rich, tomato saksuka, vegetarian mercimek kofte, or a delicious, hearty kebab.

Looking for something sweet? It has to be fresh Turkish delight. Grab some from a local maker to carry with you while you explore. The bustling atmosphere in Antalya goes on well into the night, so stay for a few after-dinner drinks before heading back to the comfort of Lara Beach.
