Nerja beaches
Nerja is renowned for its beaches and is often referred to as ”the jewel of the Costa del Sol.' So if you're dreaming of a holiday with plenty of sand then Nerja would be a great choice with over nine kilometres of coastline and everything from small secluded coves to large sandy stretches. There are so many beaches that you could visit a new beach every day of the week if you wanted to.
One of the more popular beaches in Nerja is Burriana Beach. With a nearly two kilometre long stretch of golden sand, it's perfect for those who love to take a stroll along the sea front. It's also one of the more popular beaches in Nerja and it's a favourite amongst families and children due to the activities on offer. There's a children's play area and volleyball net as well as pedaloes for hire. There are also plenty of sun loungers and parasols for you to hire too.
If you want a quieter beach to unwind on there's El Salon Beach, Calahonda Beach, Carabeo Beach or La Caletilla Beach that are smaller.
If you visit Nerja during the last week of June you'll be able to take part in The Festival of San Juan. It's a midsummer celebration which is like a huge beach party, including bonfires and camping on the beach. As per tradition, sardines are caught fresh, cooked on the beach and enjoyed by all.
