Benalmadena Nightlife: Bars & Clubs
The Costa del Sol is famous for its nightlife and Benalmadena is one of the reasons for this part of Spain's reputation as party central. Just up the coast from Marbella, Malaga and Torremolinos, Benalmadena attracts thousands of people looking for fantastic nightlife every year. It's just a two-hour flight from the UK, making it the perfect place for a long weekend.
With beach parties, 24 hour licences, plenty of clubs and bars, nightlife in Benalmadena is varied and there's something for all tastes. The resort attracts everyone from families looking for some Mediterranean sun and fun, to hen and stag groups looking to party.
Plaza Solymar
This plaza is known as a 24 hour square. Lined with bars and nightclubs, partygoers start early with the many offers available before heading to one of Benalmadena's nightclubs. Here you can party ”till 8am and go straight for breakfast in one of the many cafes. Popular with hen and stag parties, Plaza Solymar is the party plaza.
Benalmadena nightclubs
Plaza Solymar is home to two of the biggest clubs. Molly Malones has a capacity for 350 people, it has a huge dance floor, terraces, places to sit and enjoy a snack, as well as pool tables, darts, a games console and free Wi-Fi.
Kui is the largest club in Benalmadena, with three dance floors specialising in Sala Latino, Dance, and the latest chart music, plus 10 bars. Hidden behind large metal doors you will find the Atlantis Room. This is another dance floor, with its own balcony. If you're coming to Benalmadena on a hen do then head to Kui on Thursdays for ladies night. Doors open at 11pm and close when the sun rises.
Bonanza Square
If you're looking for bars in Benalmadena then look no further than the Plaza de Nueva Bonanza. Pubs, clubs and bars are lined up next to one another in this plaza, known as Bonanza Square. This palm tree-lined square is a favourite for holidaymakers looking for two-for-one drinks deals and happy hours. Most of the bars and pubs open in the afternoon and then just keep on going. Revellers looking for clubs will need to wait ”till the early evening for things to get started but can dance until the sun comes up.
Benalmadena Marina
The award-winning Benalmadena Marina is perfect if you like to spend an evening with the locals. The clubs and bars in the marina often have a dress policy, so expect to dress up for a visit to this area of Benalmadena. Drinks are a bit more expensive on the marina, but it's home to two of the best clubs, Kaleido and Maracas Beach.
Maracas Beach is based right on beach Bil-Bil. Serving cocktails and food, this beach club welcomes families and friends all day and night. Maracas is known for its quality food, drinks, and customer service. The menu offers typical Spanish dishes, salads and burgers. Maracas has a large cocktail menu to complement your food.
Kaleido is based on the marina's waterside and has a privileged spot with views of the boats, and is open until 4am. This iconic bar is a landmark of the Costa del Sol and serves breakfast daily until 1pm. The rest of the day there are snacks, salads, sandwiches, baguettes, burgers and pizzas all served until 6pm. There are covered and open-air terraces, as well as a second bar with a London Soho feel.
There are a lot of bars in Benalmadena that offer live music, performances and karaoke and they can be a wonderful alternative to nightclubs. If you are after something different head to El Elefante, this large club is great for the whole family, with two acts on every night. Acts include everything from ”Stars in their Eyes' performances and hypnotists to comedians and bands. The dance floor opens up from midnight onwards. This is a fun cabaret club with a sun terrace and a bouncy castle.
