Jardin Canario in Las Palmas
The Jardin Canario is a unique and vast botanical paradise that features every type of vegetation and plant that you can expect to find on the Canary Islands. It's the biggest botanical garden in all of Spain and is the perfect place to spend a few hours if you maybe need a break from the beach. You can walk around all the many different sections and see all kinds of exotic and unusual plant life that you may never have even heard of or seen before; everything from brightly coloured flowers to odd-shaped cactus plants.
The majority of people enter via the lower levels of the garden, which is ideal for those with pushchairs, wheelchairs or mobility issues. But it's also possible to wander deeper into the gardens by exploring the different cliff paths that lead you to higher, less visited levels. There are great views from up there too.
Other key parts to check out include the waterfall, the cactus garden and the huge array of palm trees. There's a small restaurant at the Jardin Canario, should you fancy a bite to eat. But you could always take your own food with you and enjoy a picnic amongst your beautiful surroundings.
