Cultural must sees In Palma De Mallorca
Majorca isn't just for beach holidays, and nowhere is that more clear than in the island's capital Palma de Majorca. Amongst the highlights of this classy city's historical attractions are Le Seu (a Gothic cathedral with modernist interiors that were designed by Antoni Gaudi), Palau de l'Almudaina (the Moorish Royal Palace) and the circular Bellver Castle, where you can look down on it all from a hillside.
You can also spend hours dipping in and out of the shops and cafés in the old town and Arab quarter, watch the yachts in the swanky marina and see works by Picasso and Joan Miró at the world-class Es Baluard Contemporary Art Museum.
You might be surprised to hear that you'll also find a lot of history in Alcudia, one of Majorca's most popular resorts. Spend time exploring the cobbled streets of the walled old town and you'll feel a world away from the beachfront.
To step even further back in time, visit the last remaining ruins of Roman Pollentia, which once stood where Alcudia is now.
