Boquer Valley in Puerto Pollensa
Just behind the mountains, on the outskirts of the resort, you'll find The Boquer Valley. The valley is part of a popular walking route that starts in Puerto Pollensa and ends at the water of Cala Boquer. The trail stretches three kilometres through the valley with zig-zag paths, stony inclines and old tracks.
You'll need some comfortable shoes for this one as this is not a walk to be tackled in flip-flops. The walk through the valley is scenic and pretty, natural beauty will surround you as you make your way through. Admire the old stone wall that fills the width of the valley, the surrounding limestone rocks and the views across the bay and Puerto Pollensa around the courtyard of the farmhouses.
You'll also come across wildlife on your walk through the Boquer Valley. You may be joined by roaming farm goats on the way but the area is mostly known for birds. The valley is an in between point for migrating birds, making their way between Africa and Europe during early spring and late autumn.
If you're an avid bird watcher, this will be a paradise for you. Get your camera at the ready as vultures, eagles, owls, falcons and ravens, to name a few, pass over on their way to their new summer or winter homes.
