Cala S'Almonia

To enjoy crystal clear waters and hot Majorcan sunshine, spend a day at Cala S'Almonia. If you love your beaches to have spectacular scenery, then this is the place to go on your holiday to Calas de Mallorca.

Around 30 kilometres south of Calas de Mallorca, the journey takes about 40 minutes by car. You'll feel that the trip is well worth it though, as you take in the postcard-perfect views at Cala S'Almonia and the neighbouring Calo des Moro.

There's not much space on the sand at Cala S'Almonia, so get there early if you want to secure one of the best spots. Once the sand's full, people lounge around on the rocks as they soak up the golden sunshine.

When it's time to cool off, go for a dip in the crystal clear water, which is perfect for swimming and snorkelling. There aren't any facilities at Cala S'Almonia, so make sure you take lots of water and some snacks.

After spending some time at Cala S'Almonia, take a short stroll over to Calo des Moro. Gaze up at the rocky cliffs dotted with pine trees as you sit back and relax. The sea stays shallow for quite a while, perfect if you have younger children.

If you've got snorkelling gear, go for a swim in the calm water around the cliffs. With your batteries recharged after a visit to Cala S'Almonia and Calo des Moro, spend your next day exploring more of Majorca. Head to the Museo Marti Vicens, the Santuari de Sant Salvador or the Faro de Portopi lighthouse in capital Palma de Mallorca.
