Cala Millor Beach Spain

A day relaxing on the beach is a day well spent in Cala Millor. The sand is very soft, the sea is a beautiful shade of turquoise and the waterfront promenade has all the shops and cafés you could want to keep you fuelled all day long. You'll definitely need it if you decide to make full use of the water sports available, as you can do pretty much anything from hiring a pedalo to learning how to windsurf.

But if that sounds far too energetic for a hot day, there are plenty of sun loungers on the beach or, for a much calmer atmosphere, you might prefer the beach at neighbouring Cala Bona. Cala Millor beach is perfect for a family day, as the water is shallow and watched over by lifeguards. As well as splashing about in the gentle waves, you can have a look at the underwater world on a glass-bottomed boat trip, or go snorkelling together.

You may be surprised to hear that this area of Majorca's east coast used to look very different only a few decades ago. If you take a walk in the Punta de n'Amer Nature Reserve, you'll be able to get a feel for how it used to be before the resort was developed and see the lonely 17th century watchtower that still stands on the headland.
