Cala Gran Beach in Cala d'Or

If you're into beaches, you'll love Cala d'Or. It's got several, all small but perfectly formed with soft sand and clear water. They're in little coves (called a ”cala' in Spanish), giving you a sheltered place to swim and snorkel.

Make sure you treat yourself to some time at Cala Gran, the biggest of Cala d'Or's beaches and one of the most beautiful in the whole of Majorca. Like most of the calas, Cala Gran has its own mini resort area, with shops, bars and restaurants, so you're set up for a day by the sea. There are also water sports and sun loungers to hire, and you can take boat trips from the beach, too.

Alternatively, spend some time relaxing on Cala Ferrera (which has been awarded a Blue Flag for cleanliness), the white sands of Cala Esmeralda, or the more secluded Cala Serena. Or if you fancy some time on the beach after looking at all the yachts in the marina, you won't be far at all from Cala d'Or beach. It's easy to get to any of the resort's beaches on the tourist mini train through Cala d'Or, on the open-topped bus that runs in the height of summer, or by water taxi.
