Malta's Classic Car Collection Museum

Take a trip down memory lane with a visit to the Malta Classic Car Collection Museum. It's a great way to spend an hour or two on your holiday to Qawra, whether you're a car enthusiast or not.

The Malta Classic Car Collection Museum is to the north of town, close to the bus terminal. Stepping inside the museum you'll have a bit of shelter from the hot Maltese sun, perfect for finding some shade for your little ones. It's open until 6pm Monday to Friday, but shuts at 1.30pm on Saturdays, and is closed on Sundays.

There's around a hundred vehicles to see in the museum, ranging from a 1955 Jaguar C Type to a 1956 Ford Thunderbird. Each vehicle has been lovingly restored, and there's plenty of information to read up on and stories to learn.

If you're interested in two wheels, there's a number of motorcycles including an old Harley-Davidson.

There's also things like vintage jukeboxes and lots of memorabilia to see, making the museum suitable for the whole family.

If you fancy yourself as being quite handy, then you can get some tips on how the museum restores the abandoned cars they find. Even if you have no plans to be hands on, it's impressive to see how the classic cars are brought back to their former glory.

There's a gift shop where you can pick up a souvenir of your visit, and a cafe if you feel like a quick bite before you leave.

Head back out into the sunlight and make your way to the Malta National Aquarium. Or make your way to Malta's south coast to see the Mnajdra temple complex.
