Markets

Wander around Jesolo Old Town Market, it opens every Friday and features Venetian gems including locally produced arts, crafts and antiques. Rialto Market has been happening for almost 1000 years and offers some of the best fruit, vegetables and fish in Venice. Mercatino delle Robe da Mar in Via Garibaldi is also a popular choice. Held in October during the Venetian marathon, visitors can find unique souvenirs from the stalls selling unusual antiques and bric-a-brac.

Arts and crafts, Lido di Jesolo

Away from the bargains of Jesolo Market, Via Bafile in Lido di Jesolo is a must when shopping in Italy representing a shopper's paradise. Stretching over 13km, it's Europe's largest pedestrianised shopping street featuring approximately 1200 stores. Choose from Italian-made gifts and crafts and the latest fashion clothing. If you are looking for designer clothes at superb prices, then head to the Veneto Designer Outlet in Noventa di Piave.

Leather goods, Cannaregio

Italy shopping includes exquisite hand-made leather goods including bags and shoes. Balducci Borse in Cannaregio is the ideal spot to purchase genuine Italian handbags made in their small studio for decades. Shopping in Italy on the Venetian Riviera will undoubtedly include its beautiful masks and stunning glass. Casin dei Nobili is the place to buy unique, hand-crafted masks with exquisite attention to detail. Make your way to Murano and take a workshop tour to see the finest glass-making in progress. Lace, Burano

If you are looking for designer clothing and are ready to splash the cash, then wander around Calla Larga XXII Marzo and Calle delle Mercurie just beyond St Mark's Square. There you will find Italian designer brands including Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana and Prada, in addition to Chanel, Swarovski and Louis Vuitton. There really is something for everyone when shopping in Italy.
