Cameo Island Zante Greece

Discover your very own island paradise and take a trip to the private Cameo Island. Located just off the shore of Laganas, Cameo Island Zante is undoubtedly one of the Mediterranean's best-kept secrets, with its idyllic sandy beaches and azure waters.

There's a small fee to pay on arrival, as this is a private island, but the fee includes a drink of your choice from the beachside bar; whether that's a Manhattan or a pint of beer is up to you. Young children can for free (but their free drink is limited to something non-alcoholic!).

For the best of Cameo Island, come early in the morning to spend the day relaxing on the secluded bay. Snorkel in the clear blue waters, relax on the golden sands with stunning views of Marathonisi Island, or sip on a cocktail before cooling off with a dip in the calm waters. You may even spot endangered loggerhead turtles.

When you've had your fill, it's just a short boat trip back to Laganas for a romantic evening meal. Visiting after dark is a must for couples and groups of friends. The island really comes to life at night, with live music on the beach and colourful lights creating an unforgettable atmosphere. There are two bars here, one on the beach and another on the clifftop with stunning views of the sunset. Both serve a range of alcoholic and soft drinks.

There's another reason to come to Cameo Island Greece; for your destination wedding. What could be more romantic than your very own private island? Your guests are sure to be wowed at the miles of private sandy beach and calm turquoise waters, and the wedding photos will be nothing short of spectacular!

If you're planning to head here for the whole day, we'd recommend packing a picnic; as this is a private island there are limited facilities. Whilst you're here, you could enjoy snorkelling, diving, or swimming, catch up on some light reading at the beach, enjoy a few drinks and a picnic, or just work on your tan; the choice is yours.

Cameo Island is busiest during the summer months of June, July, and August, when Zante attracts thousands of holidaymakers who come for sun, sea, and sand. For a quieter experience it might be best to take a trip here off season, and the spring time is a beautiful time of year to visit. You'll still get plenty of sunshine, but much smaller crowds for a more laid-back experience.

Whilst you're here, you could always visit Agios Sostis. This is one of the most picturesque resorts on Zante, with gallons of Greek charm. It's the perfect place to enjoy an evening meal and drinks at one of the many beachside tavernas.

If you're here during the day, the beach is usually quiet and a perfect spot for relaxing. Or you could always hire a pedalo or canoe, or hop aboard a boat trip to Turtle Island with the whole family. Cameo Island is accessed via a small wood bridge from the main island of Zante, and combining a trip here with a visit to Agios Sostis is a great way to spend your day.
