If you're buying souvenirs, Eleftherias Square has its very own marketplace. With stalls selling everything from spices to Greek honey, there's plenty of choice for your gifts and keepsakes. The market hall is open every day until late, so take your time to browse the locally-made items.
With Defterdar Mosque overlooking the square, this is a great place to take photos - so don't forget your camera.
Eleftherias is also home to Kos Archaeological Museum, where you can see some impressive mosaics and statues from the Hellenistic era. In the evening, the traffic-free square is a peaceful place to enjoy a traditional Greek meal. Romantic lighting sets the mood as you try local delicacies and while reflecting on your day in the sun.
