    By bike: Compact and flat, you’ll love exploring the town on two wheels. There are lots of companies offering cycle hire at good prices.

    By bus: A bus service runs along Corfu’s northern coast, linking the village with nearby resorts like Sidari and Kassiopi. They’re a cheap and reliable option for daytrips.

    By taxi: You won’t have any trouble getting a taxi; just find a taxi rank or book in advance. They’re a convenient choice for airport transfers and you’ll always be able to find one at Corfu Airport.

    By moped: Corfu’s scooter and moped hire centres are in every town and village, so if you fancy buzzing around the island with the wind in your hair, you can. Make sure your scooter hire includes a crash helmet, though. 

    Events in Roda

    Carnival: Carnival is celebrated in towns and cities across Corfu, usually taking place over a week in February or March. You’ll find the main events in Corfu Town, the island capital, featuring colourful parades and bright costumes amid a party atmosphere. Plus, there’s lots of local food and wine to sink your teeth into.

    Wine festival: About 20 minutes away by bus is Kassiopi, a town known for its annual wine festival (September). Held on the picturesque harbour, you won’t need any excuse to sample the local wine, or tuck into tasty grilled souvlaki!

    Best time to visit: If you want warm (but not boiling hot) beach weather, book your Roda holidays for early summer.

    The weather here is typical of Corfu’s Mediterranean climate; you can expect long, warm summers, with welcome sea breezes that make the summer more comfortable than in mainland Greece. The mercury lingers in the mid to late-20s between June and September, creeping up higher in July and August. Autumn tends to be cooler, and winters on Corfu can be wet and a little cold. Things warm back up again in March and into April, making it perfect for an early spring break.
