Buža Bars in Dubrovnik

Carved into the rocks beneath the walls of the Old Town, these two cliff bars Buža I and Buža II do a thriving trade with both tourists and locals, offering an unbeatable setting to enjoy a cocktail and a late-afternoon swim.

In Croatian, Buža roughly translates as ‘hole in the wall’ but these days, the popular Buža bars are no best-kept secret. You might have to hang around until a space appears, but the view is well worth it.

Take in the kaleidoscopic sunset with a cocktail before you hit town for dinner. In summer, films are projected on the cliff-face under a canopy of stars. Swimming is permitted until midnight.
