Parliament Building Tours in Budapest

To get there, take the M2 subway or Streetcar 2 to Kossuth tér. As you walk towards Parliament Building, you’ll get a closer look at the striking exterior. Designed by the architect Imre Steindl, you’ll take in white turrets, dramatic arches and a domed roof.

Completed in 1902, the huge building has 691 rooms in total, each one elaborately decorated. To make the most of your visit, go on a guided tour when parliament is not in session, but make sure you book in advance. In 45 minutes you’ll see the grand entrance, the Old House of Lords and the Crown Jewels. The Great Vaulted Hall, the Session Room and the central staircase are truly beautiful, so remember to take your camera.

To get the best views of the whole Parliament Building, visit Fisherman’s Bastion or Batthyány Square on the opposite side of the river.
