Explore the caves near Bavaro
Climb below ground level for the rare opportunity to explore the largest cave systems in the whole of the Caribbean. Join a group and travel to the site surrounded by thick forestry. Safety gear is provided before taking a tour in the dark setting and through the natural terrain to discover the fascinating spectacles that lie beneath.
Navigate through the 20 million year old limestone caverns to see the remains of marine coral and organic organisms. Follow the flowing Almirante River that runs seven kilometres underground and will have you wading through the cool waters.
The cave systems are home to phenomenal rock formations like coladas, calcites, stalagmites and stalactites.
