What's the weather like in Florida in April?
The Sunshine State has a warm climate thanks to its location in the southeastern US, close to the Tropic of Cancer. Temperatures never dip too low in Florida all year round, although they’re on the rise in April as the state approaches its hottest period; rain also starts to increase as Florida heads towards its wetter months.
Climate
Florida sits on a peninsula that divides the North Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Gulf of Mexico in the west. The state has a tropical climate in the south, while conditions are more subtropical in the north. This brings Florida its year-round warmth, although the surrounding oceans will help keep you cool. April’s one of the sunniest months of the year, although rain does start to build as summer approaches, usually coming in short downpours or thunderstorms.
Averages
The typical high temperature in Miami during April is 27ºC, which only drops to 20ºC at night, so you won’t need too much from your winter wardrobe. The average sea temperature’s 25ºC, while humidity’s moderate and expected rainfall’s 68mm over five rainy days. You can look forward to ten long hours of sunshine from 13 hours of daylight each day, so make sure you pack your sun cream as UV levels will also be extreme. Sunset’s around 7.45pm for most of April.
