What’s the weather like in Turkey in April?
Turkey has land in both Asia and Europe, meaning it’s a rare transcontinental country. The country’s size means there’s lots of different weather, although most places have warm weather in April as summer gets closer. You'll find some of the best holiday weather on Turkey’s southern Mediterranean coast at this time.
Regional differences
Turkey’s popular Aegean and Mediterranean resorts enjoy long hot summers and you'll see things getting hot in April. It’s the last of spring’s wet months so you'll get some rain, but mountains close to the Mediterranean coast shelter island areas. Black Sea resorts get more rain all year round, while spots on the Sea of Marmara are drier, making them a great choice for Turkey holidays outside of the peak summer months.
Averages
Turkey's south coast’s very popular, with Antalya enjoying an average high temperature of 21ºC during April. You'll need your beach gear for the days but you should pack some warmer clothes for the evenings as things can get quite chilly. The average sea temperature’s 18ºC, while humidity’s low and ranges from around 40% to the mid-80s. Average rainfall’s 46mm across seven rainy days.
Daylight
You can expect 13 hours of daylight with eight hours of sunshine each day in April. UV levels will be high so take care of yourself in the sun, which sets around 7.30pm for most of April.
