What’s the weather like in Djerba in February?

If you’re looking for a sunny half-term break, or the chance to escape the cold of Britain, check out the wonderful weather in Djerba in February. While it’s not hot enough for sunbathing and swimming in the Mediterranean, you’ll see lots of sunshine and very little rain around this idyllic Tunisian island.

    Geographical influences

Djerba’s a popular, but relatively unheard of island just off the south coast of Tunisia. Its sandy beaches are lapped by the Mediterranean, which helps to keep conditions very mild in late winter. Wind speeds can increase a little this month but won’t make you feel chilly.

    Averages

With a daytime high temperature of 18°C and between nine and ten hours of sunshine each day, it’s easy to see why the Djerba weather in February attracts many visitors. The climate rarely sees temperatures below 11°C during the day this month, but you’ll need a jacket at night, as it will turn chilly quite quickly. You may need to pop your sunglasses on, too. The sun rises around 7am at this time in southern Tunisia, and doesn’t disappear until after 6pm. One of the big attractions of the island is how dry it usually is in February. The rainfall average is only 16mm over about five days that are affected by wet weather, which is extremely low compared to Britain and northern Europe. The wind speed will be around 15mph at times along the coast.
