What’s the weather like in Spain in March?
With such a vast land mass in the southwestern region of Europe, Spain’s weather varies depending on which area you visit. In March, the country begins to warm up after the milder winter months. If you want to explore the historic sights and experience some culture, this is the perfect time to book your Spain holidays as temperatures are pleasant but not hot. If you’re planning on taking a swim in the sea, be prepared for chilly temperatures, and pack a light rain jacket in case of the occasional shower.
Averages
The hottest part of the country is the south coast, with areas such as the Costa del Sol enjoying warmer temperatures and plenty of sunshine. In Malaga, the temperature can reach up to 19°C in the daytime with seven hours of sun, while temperatures hit lows of 9°C at night. In Madrid the average temperature is 10°C, with highs of 16°C and lows of a chilly 4°C after dark. On the north coast, San Sebastian has a high of 15°C. March sees around 49mm of rain on the Costas, so prepare for the odd shower.
