What’s the weather like in Madrid in February?
Temperatures begin to warm up slightly in February, which is great if you have a lot of outdoor activities planned. Madrid weather in February is generally cold at night with a rise in temperatures towards the afternoon. Snowfall is a possibility, but most of it falls on the surrounding mountains and the city usually doesn’t see much snow.
Geographical influences
Madrid has a Mediterranean climate with cool winters and long, hot summers. The city is elevated 667m above sea level, which affects how cold it can get in the winter. Temperatures in February almost drop to below freezing and rarely rise above 12°C. Humidity is usually quite low in winter and there’s not much rainfall with just a few light showers throughout the month.

February is the mildest month in winter with a high of 12°C and an average temperature of 7°C. The average low is just 2°C, which means it can be quite frosty in the morning and there’s a small chance of light snow showers towards the start of the month. There’s not much rain with just 40mm of rainfall expected over seven days. The sun shines for just two hours per day, but this usually increases and varies depending on cloud coverage.
