The Playa De Las America weather in August is some of the best in the Canary Islands. Thanks to the year round warm Atlantic climate, temperatures at this popular Tenerife resort are hot and there’s hardly any rain. It’s the peak summer month and visitors make the most of the brilliant beaches and stunning views around Playa De Las Americas.Geographical influences
Playa De Las Americas is located on the beautiful south west coast of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands of the Atlantic. The resort is slightly protected by the huge volcano, Mount Teide, in the centre of the island. This blocks some of the winds and rains from reaching the south. In hot months like August, hot air from the Sahara desert can blow west to Tenerife. By the time it has reached Playa De Las Americas, the air’s cooled and this offers a refreshing feel to the island.Averages
