Unlike many other travel companies we operate on a trust account model. Once we’ve paid the airline for your flights, the rest of your money is held in a trust account. We do not have access to this directly and can only withdraw funds when you are back home from holiday
All of our holidays that include flights are protected by the ATOL scheme from the moment you book. So if one of our suppliers fails, you’ll get your money back. If you’re left stranded abroad, a flight home will be arranged at no extra cost. Our ATOL number is 11806
As proud ABTA members we deliver the highest standards when it comes to our holidays. So if you book with us you’re guaranteed the best service. Our ABTA number is P8283, Y6720.
What’s the weather like in Tenerife in May?
Tenerife’s the largest of the Canary Islands off the west coast of Africa, and enjoys warm weather all year round as one of the ‘Islands of Eternal Spring’. It’s nearly summer in May and you'll get lots of sunshine and hardly any rain if you book your Tenerife holidays at this time.
Geographical influences
Things can be scorching in May when the Sahara Desert sends hot winds over to the island, although the cooling Canary Current and breezes will usually keep you comfortable. Mount Teide’s one of the world’s tallest volcanoes and protects the south of the island from north easterly winds, meaning it’s warmer and drier than the north. You'll also get less rain on the coast, making your stay at one of the below resorts even better.
Averages
You're going to spend lots of time chilling out in the sun during May, as the average high temperature is 23ºC. Pick out your best beach gear for your holiday, but you'll need to bring some warmer things for the evenings as it can get a bit cool. The average sea temperature’s 20ºC, while humidity’s low and ranges from the late-50s to early-90s. Average rainfall’s just 8mm across two rainy days.
Daylight
You can look forward to 14 hours of daylight and nine hours of sunshine each day in May. Take care in the sun as UV levels will be very high, while sunset’s almost 9pm by the end of the month
