What's the weather like in the Canary Islands in April?
The popular Canary Islands sit off the North African coast in the Atlantic Ocean. The islands, including Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, have a subtropical climate and in April, the weather’s mild and sunny, perfect for days on the beach or sightseeing. At this time of year, temperatures are warm but not too hot and the resorts are much quieter than the summer months.
Averages
On the most easterly island, Lanzarote, the average temperature in April is 20°C, with highs of a warm 24°C in the peak of the afternoon. Just 5mm of rain is forecast is month, so there’s very little chance of wet weather during your holiday in April. For days on the beach, the sea’s a mild 19°C at this time of year, while nine hours of sunshine are expected each day. After dark, temperatures dip to a low of 16°C so you may need a light jacket for evenings out.
