Escape the cold and dull weather back home for warmer temperatures and more sunshine. Barcelona weather in December is mild with shorter days and slightly less rainfall than previous months. Although it’s the coldest month of the year, it’s still warm and perfect for sightseeing and exploring the city.
Geographical influences
Winter in Barcelona is quite mild compared to most European regions. The climate is a lot cooler than the summer, but it’s still a great time to visit. Festive decorations take over the city, giving it a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The Mediterranean climate has cooled quite a lot, but temperatures are still mild and enjoyable. Strong winds from the south-west and north blow through the streets, which can be quite chilly at night when the sun is down.
