Unlike many other travel companies we operate on a trust account model. Once we’ve paid the airline for your flights, the rest of your money is held in a trust account. We do not have access to this directly and can only withdraw funds when you are back home from holiday
All of our holidays that include flights are protected by the ATOL scheme from the moment you book. So if one of our suppliers fails, you’ll get your money back. If you’re left stranded abroad, a flight home will be arranged at no extra cost. Our ATOL number is 11806
As proud ABTA members we deliver the highest standards when it comes to our holidays. So if you book with us you’re guaranteed the best service. Our ABTA number is P8283, Y6720.
What's the weather like in Portugal in August?
Portugal’s in Western Europe on the Iberian Peninsula, surrounded by Spain and the North Atlantic Ocean. August is the height of summer, and you'll get lots of sun and not much rain if you're going at this time. There’s some differences in weather around the country though. The south, where you'll find the popular Algarve region, has a fairly typical Mediterranean climate, while regions along the west coast are warmed by the Gulf Stream. You'll have cool breezes all along the coast which take the edge off August’s high temperatures, and the island of Madeira has even hotter weather than the mainland.
Averages
The average high in capital Lisbon is 28ºC in August and things stay nice and pleasant in the evenings, which cool to 18ºC. The sea temperature’s 20ºC while humidity’s moderate. There’s just 5mm of rain over two days and 14 hours of daylight with 11 hours of sunshine each day. UV levels will be moderate, while sunset’s nice and late at around 8.45pm at the start of the month.
