What’s the weather like in Marrakech in October?

Marrakech’s location in North Africa close to the Sahara Desert means the city has hot weather in October. Autumn’s a great time to visit Marrakech, with temperatures still high but more comfortable than summer, while there’s still hardly any rain.

Atlas Mountains

Marrakech gets a bit of rain through the year because it’s in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. This stops it being a true desert city, and you'll probably appreciate some rain if it comes, although there’s only the odd shower in October. Marrakech isn’t close to a cooling sea, although it has relatively low levels of humidity so you should be quite comfortable at this time.

The average high temperature in Marrakech during October is 29ºC, so you won’t need much more than shorts and t-shirts for the days. Temperatures usually drop to 15ºC at night, so you'll want to pack a warmer top for the evenings.
