What's the weather like in Marrakech in March?

Marrakech is in north Morocco with the Sahara Desert just to the south, which means the city has warm weather all year round and hardly any rain. March is one of the wettest months of the year, although there’s still not much rain and you can look forward to plenty of sun.

Atlas Mountains

The nearby Sahara brings Marrakech its hot weather, while the Atlas mountains bring the city its rain. Marrakech’s in the foothills of the mountains, which stops it being a true desert city. The mountains trap rain that arrives with the winds, and delivers it to Marrakech.

The average high temperature in Marrakech during March is 25ºC, although things get chilly at night so bring some warmer clothes. Humidity’s low, while normal rainfall’s 31mm over six rainy days. You can expect 12 hours of daylight with eight hours of sunshine each day, and UV levels will be high so don’t forget to take sun cream. Sunset’s at 6.30pm at the beginning of January but this is closer to 8pm by the end of the month due to the start of daylight saving.
