What’s the weather like in Morocco in August?

With its subtropical climate in the north of Africa, Morocco experiences cold winters and hot, dry summers. In August the temperatures in Morocco are high no matter which part of the country you visit, so make sure you reapply your sun cream regularly and seek shade during the hottest part of the day. In Marrakech the small streets can be very humid in August, while the coastal city of Agadir is more breezy but still lovely and warm.

In Marrakech the average temperature in the daytime is a hot 29°C and with highs of up to 36°C you’ll certainly appreciate the cool riad courtyards and shaded city parks. At night the temperature dips to 21°C, perfect for eating out at the Jemaa El Fna market. Agadir is more pleasant at this time of year, with an average temperature of 22°C in the daytime, highs of 26°C in the afternoon and lows of 18°C after dark. The chance of rain is very low in August, with each day bringing around 12 hours of sunshine on average and the sea measuring a warm 21°C.
