Geographical influences
Located in the Mediterranean Sea just off the coast of Italy lies the Italian island of Sardinia. It’s known for its sandy beaches and high mountain peaks inland. There’s almost 2,000km of coastline, so you’ll have plenty of space to yourself on the beaches. The north of the island tends to get more rain than the south. Towards the southeast, you’ll find wetlands that are very hot and humid for most of the year. Sardinia also receives cooler temperatures in autumn and winter because of Arctic winds blowing across the sea.
