What's the weather like in Italy in April?
Sitting in southern Europe, Italy reaches out into the Mediterranean Sea on the Italian Peninsula. There’s different weather around the country although most regions are warming up in April as spring goes on. The Alps will shelter you from cold northern winds, which, along with the surrounding sea, gives much of Italy its pleasant weather. Most of the south has quite typical Mediterranean weather, while the country is quite mountainous which has a big impact on the weather. You'll have more rain and cooler temperatures the closer you get to any mountains.
Averages
The capital city of Rome gives a good idea of the weather around Italy, and has an average high of 20ºC in April. This is nice and warm in the day but it can get quite cool in the evenings so you should bring some warmer clothes with you. Humidity’s low, while there’s 62mm of rain over 13 days. You can expect 13 hours of daylight with seven hours of sunshine each day. Remember to bring your sun cream as UV levels will be high. Sunset’s around 8pm for much of the month.
