What's the weather like in Sri Lanka in September?

Located just 30km off the coast of southeast India, Sri Lanka’s an island nation in the Indian Ocean. It has high temperatures all year round thanks to its tropical climate which also brings two monsoon seasons; the northeast monsoon from October to February and the southwest from May to August. Sri Lanka has a mountainous southern central region which has an impact on the weather along with the warm Indian Ocean coast and the huge landmass of the Indian subcontinent. You'll find that September’s a relatively dry month in some parts of the island, although you'll get rain all year round in Sri Lanka. The south west’s the wettest part of the island and you'll be driest on the northwest and southeast coasts. Capital Colombo is on the west coast and has similar amounts of rain in each monsoon.
