    What’s the weather like in Sri Lanka in May?

    Located in the Indian Ocean just south of the equator, Sri Lanka experiences regular dry and rainy seasons. With different weather affecting the southwestern and northeastern areas of the island, in May the yala monsoon is in full force across many of the popular coastal resorts. At this time of year the capital Colombo is hot, wet and humid, while Kandy and Nuwara Eliya in the higher regions are slightly cooler.
